Obama Doesn't Get It!


Obama: Sure, I'll meet with Castro, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, etc

Obama would meet on a one on one basis, face to face, from the President of the United States position, without any pre-conditions, with leaders from countries such as the likes of Iran, Syria, and North Korea.

Wow, what better way of gaining creditability in the world, as a leader of Iran, who publicly states that he wants to wipe out Israel from the face of the earth, than by meeting face to face with the President of the United States of America, the leader of the most powerful nation on earth, the leader of the free world, a nation that prides itself on doing the right thing, and a nation with a background of having Judeo-Christian values; without having any pre-conditions for a face to face meeting with the President of the United States of America.

Senator Obama, you don't get it!

First term Senator Obama is very naive and dangerous for our nation, if he thinks these crazy leaders, who are totally out to destroy everything the US stands for, wouldn't jump at a chance to gain creditability in the eyes of the world by a face to face meeting with the President of the United States of America. It's not a question of talking or not talking with countries, it's a question of should the President talk without any pre-conditions. Obama would give creditability to these crazy leaders if he is given the chance to.

Biden: 'No coal plants here in America'

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We’re not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama. They do, on paper, support clean coal.


Then on another day, at another place he said the following:

“You know we have enough coal in the United States of America to meet out needs domestically for the better part of the next hundred to 200 years,” Biden said.

To Regulate or Not - That is the Question

Obama continues his pitch trying to get people to believe that the overall lack of regulation in general, and the Bush Administration in particular, led to the financial crisis we are now in – no regulation of mortgage lenders, these banks that are now all going bust. In reality, just the opposite is true.

If you go back to the Clinton years, a good case could be made for the fact that OVER regulation is the root cause of our current problems. It was during the Clinton Administration that regulations were put in place to force lenders to make home loans to those who would not previously qualify under the guise of "making home ownership available to all". This has been a mantra of the Democratic Party for many years.

As Megan McArdle put it so well when she said, "This was not some criminal activity that the Bush administration should have been investigating more thoroughly; it was a thorough, massive, systemic mispricing of the risk attendant on lending to people with bad credit." She gives a great analysis of this whole issue in her posting yesterday focusing on how Obama is seeking to blame the current crisis on the Bush Administration.

That posting was so well read that many people posted their own comments on "What Bush Should Have Done". She then followed up with today's blog posting where she provides additional in depth analysis of the cause and effect. As she says in summary, "Democrats seem unable, or unwilling to grasp, that to the extent that this is a regulatory problem, the seeds were laid under Clinton, not Bush. There simply haven't been any significant financial regulatory changes over the last eight years that we can point to as the culprit; nor does "stronger enforcement" work as the solution to a crisis when the companies in trouble seem to have been in full compliance with the law."

ABC Intentionally Misrepresents "Holy War"

Charlie Gibson and Company intentionally tried to misrepresent Sarah Palin's comments regarding our mission in Iraq.

As stated on FoxNews.com, "The exchange between Palin and ABC’s Charlie Gibson, in which she questioned the accuracy of the quote attributed to her, was edited out of the television broadcast but included in official, unedited transcripts posted on ABC’s Web site, as well as in video posted on the Internet."

Once again the mainstream media tries to slant everything the way they think, and the way they want us to think. Thanks, but no thanks ABC. I prefer to think for myself.

Why is the Associated Press deliberately twisting Gov. Sarah Palin's words on foreign policy?

In an interview of Sarah Palin, Charles Gibson asked the following according to an AP story:


Asked whether the United States would have to go to war with Russia if it invaded Georgia, and the country was part of NATO, Palin said: "Perhaps so."

"I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you're going to be expected to be called upon and help," she said.

The Price of Freedom

I remember our Dad telling us to never forget Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. Well, now we need to tell our children to never forget 9.11.2001.


Both events took our nation down deep to the depth of our souls. I was not around for the Pearl Harbor attack which plunged us into World War II, but I will never forget where I was, on that surreal morning of 911. Driving from our home in San Ramon, CA to Silicon Valley early Tuesday morning, I turned on the radio to hear what sounded too crazy to believe a news story of what was happening in New York City. After shock and disbelief, my next thoughts turned to what was going on. I arrived at the place of work, and saw they had a television turned on with everyone gathered around, in shocked disbelief, watching the first World Trade Center burning. Reports came in that other airplanes were involved. Then the Pentagon. Then another plane plows into the other World Trade Center tower. Then one of the towers came tumbling down. After the feelings of shock and disbelief somewhat subsided then anger set in. I was angry with what these terrorists had done to us as a nation and for the loss of innocent life.

On this day, my thoughts go out to the families that have lost loved ones and our Military, and am thankful that they are fighting the fight of freedom for us all. Sure there are people in this country that don't appreciate what the price of freedom is for them, but our military men and women our fighting for them too. The world is much smaller today than ever before. We must never forget and always keep up the good fight today, tomorrow, and forever. This is the price of freedom. Never Forget!

Not since Ronald Regan occupied the White House, have we had a president who was hooked on Jelly Belly jellybeans. On Sarah Palin's flight back to Fairbanks, the reporters on board did not learn much about her other than the fact that the beverage of choice for both John McCain and Sarah Palin is Diet Dr. Pepper.

According to Shushannah Walshe on FoxNews.com, they also learned that when it comes to candy, McCain over rules everyone and takes the whole container to his seat.

Lipstick On a Pig - No Mistake About It

Senator Barack Obama miscalculated big time on this one. Thinking he would get away with using what up until now has been a common, and sometimes overused phrase in politics, this time his use of putting lipstick on a pig with a thinly veiled reference to Sarah Palin just might be his undoing. As Jim Lindgren put it in The Volokh Conspiracy,

"It is not just a case of plausible deniability; the speechwriters were trying to be witty. By referring to McCain and Palin’s ideas using colorful language that will cause his audience to think of the actual people Palin and McCain, Obama was almost certainly trying to come right up to the line between acceptable and unacceptable insults without actually crossing it. That Obama's crowd understood the allusion to Palin is suggested by the enthusiastic cheers that started even before he finished the pig sentence. Without seeing the Palin connection, would they have cheered in the middle of him uttering an otherwise completely ordinary cliche?"

"Was Obama calling Palin a pig and McCain a stinky old fish? No, it would be too crude to do – and he didn’t directly do so."

"But when Obama talked about a pig and a fish, was he slyly referring to them personally? Almost certainly. Very likely, this paired comparison was intended to be a Palin-style sharp, but good natured insult. It misfired because the insult was far less sly (and far more crude) than he and his speechwriters thought it was."
